Sherry Joyce - Swimming Instructor
I grew up in Bassett, Virginia and graduated from Radford University with a B.S. Degree with Honors in Physical Education and Health, with a certification in Biology. I started teaching swimming lessons while in high school and continued swimming instruction while in college. While at Radford University, I also became Water Safety Instructor certified. I continued my education and also became certified in Early Childhood Education, Middle School Language Arts, Science, Social Science and Safety and Driver Education. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Eric, for 35 years. We have 4 kids: Justin (31), Brittany (29), Heather (26) and Travis (24). I am a member of Roopville Road Baptist Church where my husband and I teach 4 and 5 year olds in Children's Church. I also enjoy playing tennis.
I have over 28 years of swimming instructor experience and have been teaching swimming at Club Fitness for 12 years. My main goal as a swimming instructor is to teach infants, kids and adults how to be safe in the water. I teach all the basic swimming strokes: freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly. I teach safety and swimming strokes in a fun and loving environment.
